TRAFFIC SAFETY SONG*

1. WHEN I’M WALKING HOME FROM SCHOOL – I DON’T WANT TO ACT LIKE A FOOL

I HAVE TO STAY ALERT – SO I DON’T GET HURT -

I FOLLOW ALL THE TRAFFIC RULES

CHORUS:

{AT THE CORNER...}

I LOOK TO THE LEFT – I LOOK TO THE RIGHT – I LOOK TO THE LEFT – IS EVERYTHING OK?

THE CARS COME FAST – I LET THEM ALL PASS – I'LL BE SAFE EVERY DAY

2. WHEN I GO OUTSIDE TO PLAY –FROM THE CARS I STAY AWAY

IN THE STREET I NEVER GO- THAT’S SOMETHING THAT I KNOW –

AND THIS IS WHAT I HAVE TO SAY

(CHORUS)

3. WHEN I TAKE MY BIKE FOR A RIDE – MY PARENTS GLEEM WITH PRIDE

I PUT MY HELMET ON – FOR MY DAD AND MOM

TRAFFIC LAWS ARE MY GUIDE

(CHORUS)

INSTRUMENTAL BREAK

(CHORUS)

4. WHEN I’M RIDING IN A CAR - IF I’M GOING NEAR OR FAR

I PUT MY SEAT BELT ON FOR MY DAD AND MOM

AND SAFE IS WHAT WE ARE

(CHORUS)

5. SOME DAY WHEN I DRIVE A CAR – IF I’M GOING NEAR OR FAR

NEVER TAKE DRUGS AT ALL – STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL

AND SAFE IS WHAT WE ARE

(CHORUS)

{EVERYBODY…}

(CHORUS)

* To Our Friends in Foreign Lands: Please note that the lyrics of track #9 "The Traffic Safety Song", are written based on American and Canadian traffic rules where we drive on the right side of the road. While the song teaches children universal traffic safety concepts such as not playing in the street, wearing a bicycle helmet and wearing a seat belt in a car, the refrain of the song provides guidance on safely crossing a street based on traffic keeping to the right.
